Andrew Morton - MRICS DipArb FCIArb DipAdj MCIOB

Director

Andrew is the founder and Managing Director of the business.

Andrew enjoys working as part of a team on design led projects to create beautiful buildings. As many of AMA’s Clients build for their own use they are often building for the first or only time. Building can be a stressful experience. Andrew’s core skill is guiding them through the process in a calm and unflappable manner.

Andrew has a special interest in the re-purposing of historic buildings for alternative use and is proud to have the National Trust as a client.

Outside of work Andrew enjoys trail running, wild camping and swimming in the sea.

James Cleaver - BSc(Hons) MRICS

Director

James joined AMA in 2000 and is now a Director, gaining RICS Chartered Surveyor status in 2015. He has 20 years of valuable and varied experience of working with a range of clients on challenging projects, specialising in Historic, Education and Visitor Centre projects.

James is focused on listening to his Clients and design team to understand their needs and motivations, then providing tailored advice on cost, procurement and programming strategy in a clear and concise manner.

Outside of work, James is the Tree Warden of Salhouse and enjoys hiking and DIY, along with spending time with his wife and dogs.

Barney Lee - BSc(Hons) MRICS

Director

Barney joined AMA in April 2018 as a Senior Surveyor and has progressed into the role of Co-Director in 2022. Barney become an RICS Charted Surveyor in November 2012. Within his experience he has worked within the PQS, Client and Contractor roles as a QS and EA.  Barney has worked on an array of projects from housing (Private and Social) Barn Conversions, Community Halls and Refurbishment projects to name a few.

Barney is keen to build a close working relationship with all parties involved within his projects and believes in understanding everyone’s needs, their objectives, goals and the willingness to communicate well with everyone involved will lead to a successful project. 

Outside of work Barney is a keen runner, musician and youth worker.  He enjoys the countryside and spending time with his young family.
