AMA produced a cost plan for the essential conservation works required to protect the valuable heritage assets of this Grade 1 listed building. With a historic collection of books stored in the library, the project was tasked with ensuring that moisture could no longer migrate into the library from the North wall. The airspace behind the books had created a microclimate which was leading to the rotting of books. Particular care had to be paid to the required specialist works, including the dismantling of library fittings. The necessary building works are required to stop moisture ingress and to remove the microclimate.
