Paston College Science block

The Project:

The renovation of the science block to provide modern science facilities and a more thermally efficient building.


The Result:

A lovely client to work with. This project had a particularly challenging deadline that was required to meet the funding deadlines. Using a two stage tender process AMA negotiated the contract sum and controlled the costs.

Little Ilford Youth Centre

The Project:

Extension and refurbishment of Youth Centre to provide youth and adult education facilities.


The Result:

Working with Newton and Ulph on a tight site in an urban area, AMA performed monthly valuations and agreed the final account on this project to extend and refurbish the youth centre.

Forest Gate Youth Centre

The Project:

Extension and refurbishment of Youth Centre to provide youth and adult education facilities.


The Result:

Working on a tight site in a urban area the project involved extending the youth centre and refurbishing the existing accommodation. Working with Newton & Ulph AMA carried out monthly valuations and agreed the final account.

Paston College Art Block

Value: £1m

Client: Paston College


The Project:

The renovation and reordering of the theatre block to modernise and improve the facility to provide a wonderful new arts and theatre facility. The project involved the former 1939 building being given a new roof and entrance, a complete interior refurbishment to include a foyer, new fully equipped theatre, 3 large classrooms plus toilets and changing rooms.



The Result:

AMA provided a full PQS service to the client, with the project presenting the challenge of work being carried out in close proximity to a ‘live’ college site. The project was delivered on budget and was formally opened in 2015.

Wesley House

Value: £6m


The Project:

AMA are providing a full PQS service to Wesley House supporting their complex reordering project of their Grade 2 listed college building. The project will deliver enhanced student accommodation and a high quality teaching block including a library and dining room.
The project is made up of 5 separate projects, with a large amount of refurbishment and rebuilding works including new build. Site access for contractors is one of the key challenges in this Cambridge city centre location.

Haileybury School

The Project:

AMA provided a full PQS service on this challenging project to refurbish and extend the Grade II listed 3 storey dormitory block. The project involved the extension of the music teaching facility and the restoration of a glazed atrium at this prestigious independent school. AMA’s services included the provision of a bill of quantities, procurement advice and cost management.


The Result:

The extension was delivered on budget with the close proximity to ‘live’ school buildings just one of the many challenges successfully overcome. AMA enjoyed a close working relationship with the Haileybury school and have since completed further building projects for the client..

AMA were selected to prepare a detailed elemental cost plan for a multi - million pound refurbishment and reordering of the Grade 2 listed student accommodation in the heart of Cambridge.




Ipswich School

Client: Music school - new build


The Project:

Working with Cowper Griffith, AMA are providing a full QS service from cost plan to final account. This highly technical project has understandably very stringent acoustic requirements which are of paramount importance.


The Result:

AMA were instrumental in helping the Architect and Engineer to provide the most cost effective solution for the basement; a solution which meets the client’s budget needs in the best possible way
